Holiday
caravan – Lido Beach, Prestatyn, North Wales 2008
Prestatyn is a small market town on the North Wales coast. With the motorway network North Wales is very accessible; approximately 2 – 2 ½ hours from Bradford.
There is a train from Leeds with one change at Manchester Piccadilly. National
Rail recommend that you ring the information office on Tel: 08457 48 49 50 for the appropriate number to contact no later
than 24 hours before your trip to ensure that a member of staff is available at Prestatyn to help you access the taxis immediately
outside the station. (This is necessary because there is a steep footbridge from the platform so help will be required to
cross the line if mobility is not good). The station is about 5 minutes flat walking to the camp site and a further 5 minutes
flat walking is the promenade. The promenade stretches to Rhyl 4 miles away and
Prestatyn is within easy travelling distance of Chester, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and the Snowdonia National Park.
The caravan is
fully accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Our caravan was purchased in 2004 by the Sir Jules Thorn Charitable Trust Fund. This holiday home has central heating, double glazing and well insulated.
The caravan has ‘U’ shaped seating as it comes round to the dining
table. There is a double bed under the right hand seating or the two sides
of the ‘L’ can be two single beds.
The lounge has a fire and there is a TV/DVD.
Looking down the caravan from the lounge there is a
galley kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle etc.
The main bedroom in the caravan has twin beds and there is a ceiling hand hoist. The
caravan has two single beds in the small bedroom; one is 2’ 6” and one is 3’ wide The bathroom has a wheel-in shower with a seat
and various grab rails around the shower and toilet.
On the site there is a launderette and a Cabin Café for either eating in or as
a take-away.
Near the site there are a variety of pubs with good eating areas, cafes
and take-aways.
Visitors are required to take their own personal bed linen, ie sheets, pillow
cases. Duvets are provided. They
are also required to take towels, tea towels etc. and may find matches and a torch useful.
We hope all holidaymakers have good weather and this coast is known
for it’s warm gulf stream but, obviously, it does rain sometimes and free passes to the local leisure centre on the
promenade – Nova Centre - where there are swimming facilities with fun slides, refreshments etc. and a gym, club and
bar are included in the cost.
Costs are per week and include gas, electric and passes to the
Nova Leisure Centre.
A deposit of £75
per week will be required to hold a booking and the balance to be paid 3 weeks before the holiday latest. In addition a bond of £50 will be required with the balance but this will be returned after the holiday
on completion of a successful inspection report by an independent company.
